A Dad shares about his daughter Robin...

I am very proud of Robin and love her very much. She will always be my little girl. She is a mature beautiful daughter, a wonderful wife to her husband, Bill and mother of her three children, Tyler, kiersten and Hayden. She has a beautiful walk with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As a mother for 23 years it has taught her about parenting.

One of the things I love about Robin is that she is very interested in people and is always putting other people before her self. She is gifted in sharing her life with others. Sharing with women at a Bible Study or disciple women one on one.

Robin shared with me that “God is a personal God that cares about me”. She prays a lot and depends on God for strength and direction in her life. Her favorite Bible passage is Psalm 121:1-8.

She lives her Christian life in the community. As a member of the local Toastmasters Club, she has been a leader as Vice President for Membership and often is the main speaker where she can share her walk with Christ in a non-Christian world.

At Western Seminary she has been leading a Bible Study for a group of wives of students at the seminary. She is now taking a course on “Develop Life-Changing Bible Study for Curriculum”. This is a part of the Women’s Center for Ministry program at Western.

My daughter is very organized and can keep her self in good shape working out each day, participated in a couple of sprint triathlons (swim-bike-run), and in her spare time goes to the shooting range and plays golf with her husband, daughter and sons. She loves her yard and her flowers and is great cook. Rufio, the family German shepherd, runs with her each day.

Robin loves Washougal, Washington near Camas, Washington where she lives with her family. We live just 2 miles from her and she frequently drops by to see how her mother, Ruth and I are doing.

I could go on and on about Robin but the most wonderful thing about her is that she is a Godly women that through difficult issues in life she still stands firm in her walk with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The Journey Continues ... #7

The following scripture has been encouraging to me this past month. I trust it will encourage you.

"He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you. And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it," when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. Isaiah 30:19 - 21

It is April 2011 and it is a beautiful spring. I have mowed my lawn two times, planted some flowers. This lawn takes me only 30 minutes to mow. In Spokane it took 2 hours to mow and filled my trash to over flowing.

Ruth is enjoying her Tuesday morning Women’s Bible study. She is the “coffee lady”. Thursday morning I join three other men for Bible study and fellowship. We are enjoying attending Gateway Church in Washougal.

We enjoyed our time with Mary Anne at our home for four days while Brad was in Iraq for a ministry trip for their church.

Last month Ryan, Theresa, Ellie and Maelin came to our home in Washougal to visit. It was a great time and Nana and I were in our glory. We went to the Zoo but could not find any parking near the entrance since it was spring break in Portland and it was a “zoo” at the Zoo. So we went to Lloyd’s shopping mall and Nana, Theresa and Maelin shopped for Maelin’s dedication dress. Ryan, Ellie and Grandpa went to the ice skating area at Lloyds and Ellie loved watching all the skaters. We included lunch at Nordstrom’s to our afternoon.

Ellie enjoyed “Elmo” and all the new toys to play with at Nana’s. Ryan and I took a trip up the Washougal River, checked out some great fishing holes and some places for running the rapids. He was ready to do it but we did not have a raft.

We are looking forward to having Regan, Amy and Kate move to our area. It will still be about 1 hour from our house but it is better than traveling 6 to 7 hours to see them in Spokane. We are going to help them move into there new condo in Hillsboro, OR.

The Journey Continues ... #6

It has been awhile since I did an update of our lives. Ruth and I are enjoying our little cottage in Washougal, Washington. We have planted some bulbs and in March will plant some more flowers. You know spring comes early in this area and we need to get a head start on spring. However it is snowing today, March 1st. In our other life in Spokane we had to wait a few more months to plant flowers. We are attending Gateway Church just 1 Mile from our house and Ruth is in a women's Bible study and she is the coffee lady and bakes cookies. I am meeting with some men on Thursday morning for coffee. We have been able to visit my sister Mary Ann and brother in-law Brad in Salem, Oregon several times since moving in this area. We are also having fun with all the Mounce's except Tyler who is in Australia playing "footy". We have had our grandson Rance and his wife Elle visit us on one weekend, and Ryan, Theresa, Ellie and Maelin are coming to visit us later in March. Regan, Amy and Kate are moving to Hillsboro, OR where he will be attending Pacific University to attend the PA school. We are looking forward to having them near us.
