The Journey continues...

As I mentioned in my previous blog, being retired doesn’t mean that we stop living or serving God. This past year both Ruth and I have been praying for God to give us wisdom and direction in our lives in how we can be use to advance His Kingdom.

We were in Portland last week and had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Bill, Robin, Tyler, Kiersten, Hayden and Keith Leonard. It was a time for family to enjoy Breakfast at IHOP, a great Thanksgiving dinner and football. Oh, also, Ruth, Robin and Kierten played “Nuts” with a lot of laughter.

I had meetings at Western Seminary the first of the week to discuss the possibility of accepting a position in the Advancement office. This was the second meeting I have had with them and as you know we have been praying for God to direct us whether this was what He wants me to do. On Monday, November 30, 2009, I start my new position as Regional Development Officer serving in Washington and Oregon states.

This is only the first step and next is to sell our home of 32 years and get rid of items that we perceive as treasures but not treasures to others and find a place in the Portland area. I will be doing some travel for a while between Portland, Seattle and other areas but it is not full time.

Your prayers are encouraged as we start this new journey that our transition will be smooth and God will be praised as we serve Him.
