Our Goal In Life is to Glorify God

After many years in working full time and growing and advancing in my profession and than when it all came to a stop there were no more goals to reach and no more opportunities for advancement. I realized that life was almost over. Ruth and I would continue to love and enjoy each other and grow old together.

However being retired doesn’t mean that we stop living or serving God. This past year both Ruth and I have been praying for God to give us wisdom and direction in our lives in how we can be use to advance His Kingdom. Even if a ministry opens up or not we are willing to serve Him in Spokane or wherever He leads us during our retirement.

How can we fall into a retirement mode when there are people going to hell? Jesus Christ came to seek and to save the lost and He is asking us to reach the lost with the Gospel.

There is no magic in small plans. When I consider my ministry, I think of the world. Anything less than that would not be worthy of Christ nor His will for my life. Henrietta Mears

This statement motivates us! In what ever He calls us to do we look at ministry through God’s eyes to advance His kingdom and it is global.

O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, Until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.

Your righteousness, O God, reaches the high heavens. You who have done great things, O God, who is like you? Psalms 71:17-19

For 32 years, Ruth and I have lived in our home at 1303 W. Bellwood Dr. Spokane, Washington. We raised our three children, Rust, Rick and Robin and now have grandchildren and great grandchildren that come to our home. What a blessing when Layton and his football friends come over for a home cooked meal and Ryan, Theresa and little Ellie visit us. Rance and Reid pop in just to visit and Regan, Amy and Kate come over for a snack. Kiersten, Hayden and Tyler come over to visit. We have had post football game Bar-B-Q’s in the backyard. What a great life. Why would we leave Spokane for another area? Only God knows why we may have a change in our lives.

When Ruth and I started to pray for God’s leading in our next phase of our life, we had no idea that our time in Spokane could come to a close. We have no idea where God is leading us but we know it is where God wants us to be where there would be a challenge that will stretch our faith.

We will keep you posted in our next blog of how God has lead us during our journey. Your comments and prayers are encouraged.

The journey continues….
